“Volunteering builds people from the inside into a community of insurmountable understanding and compassion for all those involved. Being a part of a team of volunteers is great for comradery and morale for everyone involved, but sometimes what we discover from volunteering alone is an even more invaluable experience. From time to time we get opportunities sent to us and we would love to do them all, but our schedules don’t always line up as we would like them to.  We will be posting opportunities that come our way, so you may look through and join on your own. Typically it is normal to have a solid weeks worth of volunteering in either one organization or in a few different organizations.

Giving back becomes a part of who you build yourself to be, just like your education, and no one can ever take that away from you. In fact, you take it with you and you leave a little part of you wherever you go. It’s part of your legacy. Doing good for the world, building people, educating them, healing them, standing for them, rescuing, and saving people’s lives says a lot about what your intentions, character, and integrity are.”-FGR, President June – ______2017 and former Community Volunteer Coordinator for AMSA UH
